New Car Seats

Everyone is happy in their new seats. I was so done with the infant seat for Austin so Evey got a new seat and Austin got Evey's seat. Everyone is happy. (Plus I watched the seat for a couple of weeks and it went on sale at Target $40 savings, score)

Prince William County Fair 2010

Tuesday night we went to the county fair. It was $2 night, entry fee and rides $2 each. First we grabbed some corn dogs (not as good as last year, sadly).

Then we headed over to the barns. We saw dairy cows and dairy goats. Evey walked right up the goats and pet them and was very friendly to them. She said, "Hi, little fella." Then we grabbed a seat to watch the swift swine races. Little piggies, run a race to be the first one to the prize at the end, an oreo cookie.
The announcer divides the crowd in sections. Each section gets a cheerleader to cheer for a numbered pig. If your section number piggy wins then the cheerleader gets a prize. Piggy #2 won, so our little cheerleader won a prize. It was really cute.
Austin just hanging out...people watchingEvey in the dumbo ride. She ended up realizing that she was about to ride by herself and got a really scared look so I hopped in with her last minute.
Daddy took Evey on the mini roller coaster. She didn't get scared but when she got off she said, "That was really loud!" They are in the 3rd car from the left.

It was pretty hot. We didn't stay too long but I think everyone had fun, nice little adventure.

Playset

This was my birthday present this year. I used all my money and gift cards towards a playset for the kids. James (plus 2 guys from 7-11) provided the labor and worked really hard getting it ready for us. I shopped on Craigslist for months and months and finally found a steal. I have to admit that I was rather sad when it showed up on the truck. However, James worked his magic...replaced some boards...power washed and stained. Now it is awesome and we love it, love it. Thanks, honey for working so hard. We have been using it all summer but Evey and I finished painting it a couple of weekends a ago. Evey got some accessories for her birthday. So here is the final product.

Before...can't tell but it slopes down

Zoo

Last Saturday the kids and I went to the DC zoo. Daddy was in Texas for boys weekend. The Lord saved us a free parking spot right outside the gate (admission is free). We hung out for a couple of hours and I think the kids had fun.

Austin 8 Months

Mr Austin is the still the happiest baby around. Two teeth started popping through this month. He is still not crawling but pretty close. Rolling around seems to get him where he wants to go. He is a great eater. He likes carrots and peas now...not sure what was wrong with the first batch. New foods we also like are broccoli, watermelon and peaches. He is starting to give Evey a run for her money. He can almost pull toys away from her and pretty soon he will be able to sit on her and just hold her down. He babbles a lot and says mama and dada even though I am not sure it is directed at anyone.

Peas...see momma I can do it myself

Richmond

Tuesday 8/3 we took off work and we spend the larger part of the day in Richmond. We found a new MCADD doctor for Evey. We like them very much and the dietician. Miss Evey is really small for her age so that has brought some concern. We are trying to bulk her up a bit with more milk and protein powder. We re-evaluate in October to see if we have gained any weight. If not then we will move to the next step. Should have switched doctors a long time ago.

Evey 3 Year Stats:
Height: 34.75" 7.3%
Weight: 24.25 lbs 1.41%
BMI: 14 6.3%

After the appointment we went to Maymont Park and had a nice picnic lunch. It was pretty hot but enjoyable.

Visit

Our good friends the Stirmans came to visit. We were were lucky enough to be a stop (both ways) on their east coast summer tour. It was so wonderful to have them here. Evey is still asking about Greenley. She just thinks that G hangs the moon. I didn't get very many pics...bad mom, but here are a couple.

Labels:I like this site and they have great prices. I also like these wristbands for when you go to public places. Safety Wristbands

Step Stools: I looked every where for tall stool for E when she helps in the kitchen and for the sink. She is little so we will prolly use this one longer than others but we love it. And it is light for her to carry around. We have one on each floor.

Blinds:

This company is great with great customer service. We ordered valances for our blinds and they came in the wrong size. They let us keep incorrect ones, sent us new ones and then gave us extra parts so we could use the incorrect ones. I am not sure how their prices compare but worth checking out.
