First Days at Home

So we were ready to go home. This was a little bittersweet for Charlotte as she knew she was going to have to be without the nurses helping and taking her at night, but of course she was excited to bring Evey to her home for the first time. Unfortunately, Dad was off in nowheresville West Texas to be there for his best friend getting married...but Mom had plenty of help with Grandma giving her a hand.

Here's Evey and her first trip in the car seat.

Charlotte had one of her best friends come visit for a couple days and nights in the first week. She really appreciated the support and advice and it helped her through some of the first couple tough nights. She also got an extra pair of hands to help with Evangeline's first bath. Here are some pics from that.

I wasn't very happy with this bath thing.

But I calmed down after finding out it wasn't that bad.

Mommy's gotta clean my little feetsies.

Here I am all cleaned up with Mommy.

Charlotte gets to hang out with the baby all day long, so when I come home I like to have some time on the couch talking to the baby girl and telling her how my day went and asking her how her day was with Mom. Moses almost always joins us as he has a hard time letting the baby out of his sight.

Here's one of me and Mommy...she is such a multi-tasker.

It's taking me a little bit to get used to my home. There's so much to learn and I'm trying to figure out my favorite spots. I tell you what, this bouncy seat is pretty sweet. Sometimes I even sleep at the night time in it, although Mom doesn't allow that to happen very often. Just look how comfortable I am though.
This is definitely the life.

Making her presence known...

I'm sure most of you reading this know the story by now. Charlotte wanted to have everything naturally and with as little drugs as possible, maybe even no drugs. However, when we showed up at the hospital we found out the baby was coming out the wrong way and Mom was already 5 cm dilated. So, birth plan goes out the window and we ar
e going into surgery for sure. They let us sleep a couple hours and at 5am they woke us to get prepped for surgery.

We have just amazing things to say about Medical Center of Plano as everyone was so nice and helpful the entire time. Nothing could have been better about the facility and the care we received. It was also a special time to have so many friends and family visit in the hospital. Here's a selection of some pictures of visitors.
