Austin 2 Weeks

Most importantly, we got the newborn screen results back. Praise the Lord, everything was within normal range. Austin does NOT have MCADD. Yay! Austin is doing well. He definately has his days and nights messed up, which makes for rough nights but we are working on it. Since Miss Evey was the perfect baby we don't have much practice. Austin eats like a horse. Doctor wrote PERFECT on his check-up sheet so I think he is doing great. Evey is doing great as a big sis. We are so thankful and blessed to have Mr. Austin here. Here are his stats.
Height: 21" 60%
Weight: 9lbs 9oz 57%
Head: 14.75 44%

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Well, we didn't expect to get this much snow here. Heck, we don't even own a snow shovel (that will change very soon). But, wow did we get some snow. I'm sure most of you saw the news about it, but here's some pics to see what 24 or so inches looks like.

Ready to go play in the snow (and try to get Moses to go potty)

Not having much luck with either. Evey was pretty wierded out intially
about sinking into the snow. Even out under the pine trees, it was 5 or 6
inches deep. Moses didn't love it either.

This is the morning after the first snow.

Evey's friend Laney was outside playing. She thought
she would give it another shot.

This is during the day when we got another 10-12 inches.

Here's Evey and her friend Laney. They were having fun. I think
they enjoyed Disney movies and hot cider a little more though.

This is after the 2 big snows. All of this came in less than 24 hours.

Looking out the garage. I'm pretty sure I left my Jetta somewhere here.

My neighbor buddy made a little igloo type thing in the front yard.
It's pretty open in there...they had 3 kids in there at one point.

I'm only laying down like that so the camera can see me.
I could sit up in the middle.

Coming Home & First Week

This post and these pics are way overdue. A lot of family has been asking for more Austin pics. So, we'll cut to the chase and keep the blogging to a min. Austin seems to be comfortable at home. He eats like a horse and sleeps well too. He has caught an unsuspecting individual with a little boy fountain a couple of times, but we are getting a good strategy down for that one there. Hope you enjoy the pics...

Ready to go home and get out of this hospital room

Evey happy to finally see mommy

Hey, who is this?

We get to keep him?

Is that my little brother?

Love you mommy.

This is pretty much what Austin does most of the time.

Or this.

Evey got some activity time.

Painting her pumpkin from Halloween...
so it can get thrown away finally.

Rough life.

First bath

Same position, different holder.

Some rare awake time.

We like tummy time a lot better than big sister did.

Speaking of big sister...

Grammy was nice enough to spend 2 weeks with us
helping out with Evey and Austin, and getting some good
snuggle time with the grandkids.

Training him early.

Mommy and Austin hanging out.

Welcome Austin

8 lbs 5 oz - 20.5 inches

We came to the hospital early this morning for a scheduled C-section. Everything went great. We got started a little later than expected, but it was no big deal. Charlotte did awesome with everything. Apparently, her placenta was in the front, instead of the back, so there was more blood loss than normal. That has caused a little bit of uncomfortableness in recovery, but it's expected. Austin came out great, Apgar scores were very good, and he looks healthy. He's about 2 inches longer, and 2 pounds heavier, than Evey was. It's weird because I don't remember our sweet little Evey being that tiny. They look very similar in the face, from what I can remember, except I don't think Austin has those big eyelashes that Evey and momma share. We are very blessed to have Austin in our lives and for the great doctors and smooth transition into this world.

Here's the pics I selected from today. I was just snapping away, so it was tough to narrow them down, but there's a couple I really like.

Mommy, ready to go...and we wanted one final picture of the belly.

Leading quotes for the next pic:
"What seems to be the problem in here?"
"Did someone call a doctor?"
"Why, yes...I DID stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night."

On the table and ready to go.

I got you.

Holiday spirit in the O.R.

OH...what do we have here?

Got caught up in the moment and snapped this about 5 minutes late.
I think 8:21am is the official time.

8lbs 5oz? No wonder mommy was so uncomfortable.

Aww yeah, this heat is nice.

Had a big day, I need to rest.

I like this shot with Mommy in the background.

Proud Poppa.

Hey mommy, nice to meet you.

One of my favorites.

Hey is that Aunt Kiss on the phone? Tell her I said hi.

One of my favorites.
