Christmas Day

Christmas Day was really nice. We didn't have any visitors but it was good to talk and Skype with family. The kids had a blast.

First we opened the stockings then took a break for breakfast

Watch his excitement when he realizes that it is a train

He literally stood at the table all day. Taking breaks for food and short nap.

Thank You, Thank you to everyone. We loved everything.
First we went outside to try out Ian's new hockey goals. Then Laney came over to see all of Evey's new stuff. Then Evey went over to Laney's to see all of her new stuff. They played beautifully together all day. Here are the kids trying out all the fun new play-doh stuff
Kids had blast playing dress up

Christmas night the neighbors came for a Christmas feast.

We gave the kids these tickets to go on the Minivan Express
for cookies and look at Christmas lights. Daddy punched holes in their
tickets. They thought that was really fun. Evey still treasures her ticket.

Kids Holiday Show (Dec)

Now that Austin and Evey are at the same school they both had a Christmas show. Evey was a red bird and Austin was a yellow star. The young ones did the Littlest Christmas tree. It was so cute. Then the older kids did the Grinch, which was really good as well.

Zoo Lights (Dec)

I took off work Friday before Christmas. So Thursday night we went to DC for dinner with Daddy then took the metro to the zoo. It was a warmer night, clear, beautiful. It was awesome. The DC Zoo does free nights with lights. It was really fun...for sure will be going back next year.

In the visitors center they had all the ginger bread house entries and a train display. Austin of course was in heaven watching the trains.

The lights were magical...I really enjoyed them

They has a small synthetic ice rink. The kids really enjoyed it.
Evey was skating by herself, below is an optical illusion,
she is not holding hands with a stranger
Then it started to rain and our evening was over...we got soaked! It was still a fun night.
