Pumpkin Patch

Couple of weeks ago I was able to take off for the day and go with Evey's school to the Pumpkin Patch. It was a fun day. This place is both fun and educational. It is a working dairy farm.

Learning about cows and their milk
Learning about making butter
awesome tunnels

Learning about pumkins
Homemade ice cream

Country Fair

Couple of weeks ago, we went to the County Fair benefiting the Youth for Tomorrow. We had a really good time again this year. They have all kind of booths handing out free stuff, bounce houses, pony rides, food. It is so fun. We meet up with our bible study group as well.

Our view on the way to the fair
Tractor Driving
We learned about Tee Pees (sp?) and American Indians. We also ate lunch
in one to get out of a quick rain shower

Jack and Austin watching the little pig races
Not even sure why Evey got on this or why they let her but James is
holding her in the seat. She liked it but I would have thrown up everywhere.

Jewelry Cabinet

I was so tired of having Evey's jewelry items all over everywhere. Jewelry boxes and cabinets are pretty expensive and not very big so we made a custom one for her. This is pretty cheep and easy. We found this medicine cabinet at a resale place for $5 otherwise they have them new at Lowes for $25.
Light sanding and leftover paint $0
Add picture hanging hardware $3
Line the box with velvet $10
Add simple white hooks $10
Ta Da
Already had the ribbon and picture hanging knob thing

Jewelry Cabinet $28

  • April: Laundry [Not much for me to do here, worked in the yard]
  • May: Garage: I don't have before pictures but we found this awesome stuff at Sears, now everything has a place.
  • June: Kids' Rooms: We gave the neighbors a bed and some bookshelves and now Austin has a new room...not a big boy room yet. James added new electrical for the fan and light...best handy man EVER!
  • August: Bathroom [Not much to do here but I did get Evey's stuff organized with these]
Bow Storage
Hair Accessories Storage...so much easier to see everything and keep it organized
This is my favorite...A hook for hanging clothes for the next day
It is a sticky hook by 3M Command...so no drilling in the wall
  • September: Master Closet [Not much to do...trying to gradually donate instead of keeping stuff for the "in case of" times that won't happen]
  • October: Media Room [Not much to do here, will skip]
