Went to Michigan again for July 4th...always one of our favorite trips. It's a good time of relaxing by the lake and hanging out with family. We had some "firsts" this trip. For starters, we did the day drive up there instead of overnight. It turned out alright and definitely better than it could have been. Evey timed her needed stops pretty well and the drive wasn't too bad. It did kind of screw up everyone's schedule though, so I'm not sure it's the better option. We did the overnight drive on the way back and the kids did much better with just sleeping, but the driver takes most of the abuse. Another first is we brought the new smoker. It was a big hit and James ended up smoking 30 pounds of pork for Saturday night and Sunday afternoon's meals. All in all, it was a good trip and continues to be one of our favorite holiday weekends.

I am totally jealous! We want to go next time. I spent my 4th sleeping off the ONE margarita I drank! I probably wouldn't do well at the night time drinking games! :o)
