Hebrews 12 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
The Lord really spoke to me through a very basic sermon yesterday and I thought I would share. With the holidays coming up and trying frantically to finish all my projects before this little boy arrives, I was sinking.
Our pastor was talking about the time when Jesus walked on water to go out to the boat to meet the disciples. (Mathew 14:22) Peter came out onto the water to meet him, but started sinking when he took his eyes off Jesus. Link to Sermon. So basic, so simple, really needed to hear it. Here are the keys points that helped me to refocus.
1. REST in the Lord.
Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
2. REMEMBER that God's plan for my life is perfect.
3. REMIND ourselves that God's promises are unbreakable.
4. RECALL that God's power is greater than any problem we face. God IS bigger.
